The Space

Four column-free halls, with ceiling heights ranging from 22 to 26 feet, open onto a spacious, light-filled pre-function area that sets the tone before attendees ever reach the show floor. Amenities include ticket counters, retail outlets, meeting rooms with natural light, and a full suite of telecommunications infrastructure.

150,000 square feet of exhibition space across four halls. 11,000 square feet of carpeted meeting space. Eight truck-level loading bays with drive-in access and climate-controlled shipping and receiving facilities, built to handle the operational demands of large-scale events and to make move-in and move-out as efficient as possible.

Our Story

The Cohere Centre is owned and operated by Shenkman Corporation, one of Ottawa’s most established and respected private real estate companies. Founded in 1905 when Wolf Shenkman emigrated from Russia to Canada and began building homes in Ottawa, the corporation has grown across three generations of the Shenkman family into a diversified portfolio spanning commercial and residential real estate, manufacturing, and business investment in Canada and internationally.

Shenkman’s deep roots in Ottawa are reflected in landmark projects that have shaped the city, from Westgate Shopping Centre, Ottawa’s first, to the development of Kanata, the revitalization of Lansdowne Park, and the Shenkman Arts Centre in Orleans. The Cohere Centre represents that same long-term commitment: an investment in Ottawa’s capacity to host world-class events, built to last.

That legacy informs how we run the Cohere Centre today. Senior management is on-site and accessible. The team is local, experienced, and genuinely invested in the success of every event we host.

Built to a Higher Standard

The Cohere Centre was designed to meet LEED Silver certification standards. Energy-efficient lighting systems, occupancy sensors, CO₂ air quality monitoring, low-flow plumbing fixtures, and green-certified cleaning products are all part of how we operate day to day. We work with event organizers to support sustainable practices at every event, from waste sorting and recycling to energy management during non-show hours.
